POPPY COMES TO CHINA

For our spring break we had a special visitor, Poppy!  Tae was so excited and we had a countdown going on up until the day he came. Tae was also very excited to sleep on the blowup bed in our room so Poppy could sleep on his bed. We spent the week dad was here just living our best lives and showing him our daily routine.  We went to ALL the playgrounds, played with toys, ate great food, and of course took a trip to Hong Kong and Macau.

It was awesome to have dad here and just have him be part of our lives abroad. Of course we missed Grammy, but it was special for us to get one on one time with Poppy.

We went on lots of walks and ate yummy food. Tae loved greeting him each morning with a hug.  Our ayi, Amei, even spoiled dad with Chinese breakfast buns from a street vendor. Needless to say, dad experienced our China lives fully.

One of the most special things was dad coming to school with us. He hung out in my classroom and got to meet my kiddos and then went to Tae's class to read them a story. Tae LOVED his Poppy getting to read Ferdinand and I loved watching my dad read to my son's class all the way on the other side of the world. It was a teacher's dream come true.

Time flew and we were sad to see him go, but we knew Grammy wanted/needed him back. It was a great visit and we already talked about where we could meet up next year. Thanks for coming Poppy, we love you!

HAPPY 3RD BIRTHDAY TAE!

Our little boy turned three yesterday, and I would give anything to freeze time.  He has grown so much across the board this year and it has been so fun to be a part of.  I can't believe he's the same boy I held in my arms panicked he wasn't breathing, celebrated making it a year together, and welcomed toddlerhood with just within the past three years. He really flipped our lives upside down, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
