FESTIVE FALL AND HALLOWEEN

Although it doesn't feel like fall here that didn't stop us from forcing some fall traditions.  While Brazil is lacking on the pumpkin obsession (pumpkin patches, pumpkin spice latte, pumpkin muffins, etc) we didn't let that stop us!  While Jess was in Rio for a weekend Tae and I undertook painting pumpkins.

It was the first time that he was unleashed to paint, normally he sits in his high chair and paints on a taped down paper. Let's just say he enjoyed his freedom and showed he wasn't satisfied with the plain white walls.

It's safe to safe he was more interested in sneaking a streak anywhere other than the pumpkin and checking out the multitude of colors on his body.  The painting probably lasted all of five minutes and then he wanted to play with his water table.

Yesterday was the school's annual Halloween festival.  This year we decided the world needs more peace and love, so we went as a family of hippies.  I tie dyed the shirts the day before, they turned out subpar but overall I think we pulled it together.

Tae enjoyed climbing all over the playground and running around the gym prior to the parade.  He was in awe of the beautiful trees all around campus, ate meat on a stick, and charmed his way through all the crowds.  Overall, it was a success. Happy Halloween!

CURRENTLY...

READING: Creating Innovators for my Global Book Club which is my final project for my COETAIL courses.  Also, I am reading Wife After God: Drawing Closer to God & Your Husband. I really want to start reading a book for pleasure, I used to read a book a week.  #momlife

LISTENING: To Tae's babble (with a few words), lots of Sunday school songs in the car, and Jess' spotify playlist with Tae's favorite, I Can't Stop This Feeling.

WISHING: We didn't live so far from home. I am so thankful for our life and the experiences the Lord has blessed us with in living in a different country, but that doesn't mean I don't miss my wonderful family and friends. For some reason, every year around fall I get incredibly homesick. Maybe it's the fall weather, candy corn, pumpkin patch traditions, or the beautiful autumn leaves.

LOVING: Tae's current stage.  He is learning so much and cracks us up daily. I'm also loving that we found a new place that is just like Chipotle (without the food poisoning) right in town. One of cuisines I miss the most is Mexican and this hits the spot.  One more current love is Jess and his little surprises, that man always has a little treat planned.  The other day I got in the car and he had a slice of my favorite cake for me and Baby K2. I taught Tae how to give eskimo kisses and it may just be my favorite thing ever.

HAPPENING: Last weekend we hung out with some of my friends and their husbands.  Tae played all day with the other kids and of course the monkeys at the condominium. He wasn't scared at all, just ran right up to them wanting to play!  If you were a fly on our walls you would see a happy little boy going down the slide into a ball pit over and over again.

LOOKING FORWARD TO: Finding out if Baby K2 is a boy or a girl. Seeing God's plans for our family unfold. A holiday tomorrow! Walking in the door after work and seeing Tae's smile. Getting a haircut. Jess' parents to come for a visit.

THINKING: How much I love Tae. Lately I am overflowed with joy and love for my family. Tae is such a happy kid, his smile is contagious. I also ask myself daily, how did I end up with such an amazing man?  Jess is so thoughtful and is an amazing provider and leader for our family.

SILLY TAE
