July 12, 2017

 Height: 26 inches
Weight:16 pounds

  • Laughing at her brother
  • Putting any and everything in her mouth
  • Drooling

  • Still likes...
  • Tummy time
  • Nursing
  • Baths!
  • Mornings
  • Bouncing and rocking on the exercise ball (just like her big bro)
  • Sucking her hands/fingers
  • Turning to her left side
  • Squealing, talking, and cooing
  • Standing (with assistance)
  • Baby Sit-ups
  • Pacifier before she goes to sleep
  • Walks in the stroller

  • Not being able to roll back to her back

  • Is able to self-sooth (most of the time)
  • Still sleeps in the Magic Sleep Suit
  • On a pretty set schedule of 1.5 hours wake time

  • Still...
  • loves to be held while she sleeps (who am I kidding...I love it too!)
  • Pretty much sleeps through the night (7ish-7ish), only to wake up for feedings

  • On a much more consistent schedule...nursing every three hours
  • "Dreamfeeds" once during the night
  • When I hold her at the table while eating she starts licking her lips and smacking her lips together.  I think she's ready to eat!

Favorite Moments:
  • This month was the first time she has purposefully laughed at Tae.  He can really get her going by jumping in front of her or just getting in her face.  You can see the love she has for him (and vice versa) in the way they look at each other.
  • Introducing her to family and friends.  She met so many people and was so calm and happy.

  • International flight---we flew back to the US and she was great.
  • Time in the United States.  Funny to think her first time touching the ground was in Newark
  • Rolled over from her back to belly.
  • Dip in the pool
  • Trip to Waffle House

Mommy Thoughts:
I am so thankful to have another time around the block.  With Tae I was so anxious with everything I didn't take enough time to enjoy the moments and soak it all in.  I am making sure to do that with Elea...every laugh, cry, playtime, cuddle, and even dirty diapers.  This time really does fly by and I want to remember the moments.  She is truly the happiest baby, but she's also tough thanks to Tae loving on her.  The other day I heard Tae saying, "horse" while I was in the kitchen. I looked over and he was riding her like a horse, she didn't make one peep.

I pray that I can model how to be a strong, nurturing, loving, confident, and grace filled woman. I want her to know she is beautiful in God's eyes and so unique, never to settler for anything or anyone. I pray that she knows her worth, but also stays humble and seeks after her Father's heart. There is so much I dream for my children, but the most important thing is for them to chase after God's heart and to share their love with this world.
